Roy's Achievements

Roy Miles, president of The Miles Company, has continued his education well past graduating from Middle Tennessee State University, achieving so many certifications and honors that they barely fit on the wall.

CAPS

The Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist designation program teaches the technical, business management, and customer service skills essential to competing in the fastest growing segment of the residential remodeling industry: home modifications for the aging-in-place. The NAHB RemodelorsTM Council, in collaboration with the AARP, NAHB Research Center, and NAHB Seniors Housing Council, developed this program to provide comprehensive, practical, market-specific information about working with older and maturing adults to remodel their homes for aging-in-place. Defined: remaining in one's home safely, independently, and comfortably, regardless of age, income, or ability level. It means the pleasure of living in a familiar environment throughout one's maturing years, and the ability to enjoy the familiar daily rituals and the special events that enrich all our lives. It means the reassurance of being able to call a house a "home" for a lifetime.

Certified Green Builder

Roy Miles has received his certification as a Certified Green Professional (NAHB). See https://www.nahbgreen.org/ for more information on the National Association of Home Builders National Green Building Program.

Roy Miles is also a member of the HBAMT Green Builder's Council, and the HBAMT Remodelor's Council.

Certified Remodelor

The National Association of the Remodeling Industry designated this honor in 1990. It requires over 5 years experience in remodeling, a day long testing showing knowledge, ability, and competence, as well as pledging to meet the CR standards and requires continuing education requirements.

Certified Graduate Remodelor

The National Association of Homebuilder's passed to Roy in 1995, and involves completing an evaluation, and taking numerous Graduate Builder's Courses, required for that designation. This also has continuing education requirements, and agreeing to maintain ethical standards.

HBAMT Registered Builder

The Homebuilder's Association of Middle Tennessee designated in 2007. This designation involves an audit by an independent CPA, providing references from past customer's, warranties and guarantees, continuing education, and peer review.
